Baby Belly - 30 Weeks

We've made it to Week 30!! Avery is squirming like crazy and Remi seems to like my big new pillow of a belly = )

Avery's skin is smoothing out and her brain just keeps getting more wrinkled. All those grooves and indentations increase surface area, meaning more room for that oh-so-essential brain tissue. She's also adding some brawn - her grip is now strong enough to grasp a finger.

Time to load up on the protein to help out Avery's developing brain!

Clean Little Man

I bet you were hoping you could get a pre-bath, bath, and post-bath photo montage of Remi today! Our little puggle thoroughly enjoys his time at Doggie Day Care while we are out of town...but upon our return we always have one stinky dog! Remi even knows the bath is coming...he jumped into the bath tub when he realized what time it was = ) Maybe he even found his stench overwhelming!

One Exhausted Dog

This is as much activity as I expect to see from Remi today. Remi spent the entire Labor Day weekend playing with one of his best friends - Charlie. It doesn't matter that Charlie is a German Shepherd and therefore 3 times bigger than Remi...he plays like its an even playing field. Remi is sore, exhausted, and couldn't be bothered to open his eyes for a picture this morning. He snores on the daybed in my office while I work...that doesn't seem fair!

Little Helper

Remi got in a bit of trouble on Sunday...while Travis and I worked on the nursery, Remi's world revolved around getting to play with Travis' SCAC baseball from college. Remi eventually learned that the baseball was off limits so he placed it between his paws and rested his head on it in defeat. He of course lifted his head when he saw the camera come out...but this is close to the adorable scene = )

Another step towards nursery completion...I have ordered our Restoration Hardware Bright Silver Sage paint for the nursery walls. We still haven't found the perfect wainscoting so we're still working on the game plan but it will involve either wainscoting or a chair rail, espresso paint, white paint, and bright silver sage...can't wait! I will upload some pics tomorrow of our work in progress.

Play Date!

Remi had a new kind of play date yesterday afternoon...my friend Siera and 19 month old Jayden came over to play. This was Remi's first experience with a little one in the house and I'm happy to say he did quite well! Thank goodness Jayden loves dogs and found it hilarious when Remi ran around in circles.

Note to self:

Remi does not share his toys well with little kiddos (barking ensued)
Remi WILL NOT share his dog pillow with little kiddos (he could not figure out why this little person was on his beloved pillows and the moment Jayden got up, Remi plopped down)
Remi did not chew on a single toddler toy!

At least he knows which toys are his and which aren't! Good news for Avery = )

This was the first of many playdates...Siera is expecting baby #2 in April! Avery won't have to wait too long for her friend to arrive = )

One Sad Puppy

Travis and I are off to Disney World today with my entire family! Super excited to get in some Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios! I am still nauseous if I don't eat EVERY two hours and I am definitely still low on energy, but with some careful planning I think baby and I can definitely have a fantastic vacation. And I finally get to put my cute, summery maternity tops to use = )

Back to the sad puppy...Remi definitely knows that when he sees the suitcases come out it means we are about to leave him. He has spent the entire morning moping around the house staying very close to Travis and me. Oddly enough, the moment his Doggie Day Care comes into view he couldn't care less about us! And there's an extra surprise for him...on Monday his favorite person in the world will rescue him from Doggie Day Care - Gramma Joyce! I can only imagine the entertainment he will provide when he sees her thru the window to pick him up = )

Happy Father's Day weekend to all Dads out there! I cannot remember the last time I got to celebrate the actual day with my Dad so this vacation is extra special! We'll be sharing a Dole Whip (delicious!) at the Magic Kingdom to celebrate my Dad and my baby's Dad-to-be!

And Baby Makes Four

Remi rec'd his first 'Big Brother' gift from his labrador cousins Gabby & Denton. And Baby Makes Four is a trimester-by-trimester guide to a baby-friendly dog. Hopefully Remi just looks at baby as another lap to cuddle on...but this will definitely help us train him! I have definitely noticed that Remi has zero interest in little kids but it will all change soon enough = )

Remi got pooped on!

Travis and I went to see Angels and Demons last night. When we returned home to rescue Remi from boredom in the backyard we discovered that while we were gone he was pooped on! Direct shot on the head by a pigeon. Click on this picture for a better look. I tried to explain to Remi that this meant good luck but he just looked at me mortified.

Remi doesn't get enough blog time these days b/c it's all about the raspberry! Apparently today we learned that Remi loves avocados! Remi stole an avocado from Steve and Joyce this morning and hid under their bed with his new prize. He tucked away silently eating 1/4 of the avocado while Steve and Joyce were searching the house for him. I'm getting this story from Travis but apparently they were able to trace bits of avocado to their guest bedroom to discover our pup digging into his stolen treat. Thank goodness I won't be in town to clean up the aftermath of this new Remi escapade!!

My Ridiculously Good Looking Men!

I am going to miss these boys over the next week and a half! Thank goodness Joyce and Steve are coming to take care of them while I'm out of town = )

By the way...the first picture is what I like to call 'Remi taking a nap on the bridge'. It's one of his favorites and I usually enjoy it until my legs fall asleep from the angle and all 25 puggle pounds.

This is adorable but it would clearly hurt Remi's feelings...the world of onesies is dangerous!
