Picky Paci Girl

We finally found a pacifier that Avery loves! We rec'd 4 different kinds of pacifiers as gifts and thank goodness for the variety = ) Who knew she'd be so picky!

This morning Avery and I went back to the pediatrician office to make sure she is packing on more weight. Good news! She has gone from 8 lbs 12 oz to 9 lbs 3 oz since Monday! That's my girl ; )

I seem to have caught a cold...

but that doesn't mean Avery's beautiful pictures must suffer = ) Here are a couple more...

Avery loves her play mat and is already excelling at Tummy Time! We have some great footage...now Travis and I just need to learn how to download video ; )

We tried to introduce Avery to the pacifier...so far she is not having it! You can't trick this girl, she wants the real thing = )

2 Week Postpartum Appt

I had my 2 wk postpartum appt today and everything is looking good! My blood pressure is back to normal and my uterus has contracted back to its original size = ) One more appt in 4 weeks and then I should be able to enter back into the real world!

Miss Avery had her 2 week Pediatrician visit today and did incredibly well except that she has not yet gained back her birth weight. Given how much she likes to eat...I just assumed she would be a 10 pounder by now but we'll go back on Friday to get weighed and hopefully she'll have made some progress by then = ) We also had to get her second PKU test done today (poor little Avery got her heel pricked). Avery survived it like a champ...not even a little wimper!

Photo Shoot #2

I may not be updating every day right now, but I make up for it with adorable Avery pictures! Laura came over this morning for round 2 of Avery's infant photo shoot. I can't wait to see the final product...the layout was sooo cute! Here are a couple of sneak peeks from my camera.



Avery received the most fabulous gift in the mail last night...her first pair of Uggs!! I can't wait to get her out and about in her stylish new boots! Huge thank you to Inge & Mark = )

One Week Old Today!

Beautiful Eyes

I doubt you can see Avery's beautiful eyes in too many pictures just yet...but they are exactly the same as Trav's. She currently has beautiful big blue/grey eyes that I just can't get enough of! I know there's still a chance that they will change color within this first year...but I'm hoping she keeps this amazing piece of Travis = )

A few things I couldn't live without this first week...

Heartbeat Teddy Bear - this little bear has helped us get through the night with very few problems! As soon as Avery hears the heartbeat in her bassinet she is content and sleepy until her next meal. I don't want to jinx it so I'll leave it at that = )

Avery CD of lullabies - the fabulous Marcia sent us a CD full of personalized Avery lullabies.

Belly Bandit - thank you so much for this tip Auntie Shae! I live in this thing in hopes that it will get my belly back in shape faster = ) It is amazing support for a new Mom who isn't allowed to do crunches yet!

Infant Photo Shoot adventures

Laura came over this weekend to take Avery's Infant photos for us and we had one little girl who would not cooperate with the camera. She was sound asleep so we decided to first get in her individual naked baby pics = ) Of course right when we lay her down in position we find that she has officially made her first big poo at home! Travis and I tried to clean up the mess while keeping her asleep but we most definitely failed. She would not fall asleep for the next 2+ hours so we had to reschedule the photo shoot for Thursday = (

Baby Belly - 40 Weeks

Playing a little catch up now that I am back on the blog = ) This was my last baby belly picture before we were induced on 12/28. It is pretty amazing to realize just how much easier ever day tasks are without that huge belly! I can put on my shoes, sleep like a normal person, and in general just bend over to pick up something off the floor. And I have not had a moment of acid reflux since delivery! I think Avery's full head of hair had a little something to do with that...or maybe just the fact that all 9 lbs 7 oz of her was taking up all available space = )
