Workin Out With The Steeles
Avery pretty much ran City Front Terrace last week
And she made sure everyone was getting in their exercise...
Grampa had to jump rope
And Avery ran a pretty tough fitness class.
She made sure all of the equipment was in good condition
And had Grammy doing her steps class
Avery occasionally checked to see if anyone else would be joining her class
She even made sure Mommy participated while taking pictures

And a good stretch to complete the workout!

Avery & Elsa
Avery finally got to meet Elsa - our favorite Spanish beauty!
I was too busy catching up with Elsa's Mommy - Jodi - that I struggled to catch a picture of both the ladies looking at the camera = ) We got the Tri group together to meet Elsa while they are visiting all the way from Spain.

We of course had to get in some play time with our favorite little man - Jasper!
This was early on in the playdate b/c we definitely didn't leave Jasper's house looking this clean and organized!

Per usual, Avery spent most of the time following Jazzy around...

Final Averyisms - 2010
Unfortunately Avery caught a cold after her 1st birthday and then passed it on to me so I'm just now getting around to my final Averyisms blog post of 2010! I couldn't wrap up her first year without a compilation of all things Avery =)
You have graduated from breastmilk (we made it an entire year) to whole milk! You took the transition like a champ and are thriving - as is Mommy who misses the closeness but also loves the freedom. Although you were okay with the big change, you also are quite the picky drinker...don't give me that cold stuff, I like my milk at a nice 80 degree temperature.
Carnivore? Not so much - Avery doesn't necessarily love the meats just yet. You can give her a delicious bite of chicken and rice and she will separate the two in her mouth and kindly drop the chicken right back onto her highchair tray. Its actually quite impressive!
Favorite Foods at 1 - pancakes (no surprise there since this was my pregnancy craving), Mac & Cheese, Beans - any type, and sweet potato. You definitely prefer veggies to fruit...I just don't get it!
Your shoes never survive a car ride. By the time we pull out of the garage you can hear the velcro crackling.
You have a distinct play sound. It is a monotone 'aaaaaahhhhhh' that can go on for minutes. Note to self - if you hear this noise maybe look up from your computer and see what Avery is 'playing' with. She might be pulling out tissues one at a time or emptying a new package of baby wipes without you knowing.
This one is brand new - Avery has created a fake laugh. Its the 'I don't know what we're laughing about but I'm going to laugh with you' laugh. Its an adorable little fluttery laugh that gets Mommy & Daddy laughing even more!
You are sleeping 11 hours at night - THANK YOU AVERY! This probably should have been first on the list =)
You love feeding Remi...even when we're at a restaurant you still reach your hand over the highchair waiting for him to eat out of your hand. Remi thanks you. He's scared of you most of the time right now but loves the generosity at meal time!
As Mommy & Daddy like to put it - you can sense weakness! If we accidentally leave a door slightly ajar you can spot it from across the room and make a straight run for it. Don't even get me started on how quick you are to get to an opened dish washing machine.
You love to be applauded. Need I say more?
New favorite game - Chase The Baby =) I love how your face lights up when you hear Mommy or Daddy start to hum the Pink Panther tune. Avery immediate does a 180 and tries to evade capture. I'm impressed with how fast those little legs can motor when you know we're coming to get you. Incredible giggles ensue.
I hear way too many giggles and screams coming from upstairs during 'Diaper & Pajama' time. I don't know what goes on up there between you and Daddy but I'm very jealous! Daddy says that you two are telling secrets about me...
You. Love. Bathtime.
Your baby dancing is the cutest thing I've ever seen. It doesn't matter what you are doing - you hear music and you bust a move (ie - bounce in place).
You've finally mastered hugs on command! I love my little cuddlebug!
Vocabulary - Mom, Dada, Dog and Bye-bye. You are constantly 'talking' so I have a feeling this list is going to explode in the next couple of months!

Avery is constantly in this squat position...she has way more balance and strength than her Mom & Dad! I'm going to start squatting when she squats but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to walk after one day =)

Avery and I made a little trip to the Doctor's office today for her 1 Year Check Up! Avery has graduated to TODDLER status = )

My New Toy
Travis bought me a new camera for Christmas and I have had way too much fun capturing my favorite subject with it = ) My Dad also contributed to my new love of photography by passing down his super fancy telephoto lens which I finally put to use today! I love my new toys!
